Albert Fish was one of America's most vicious serial killers of his day. Born in Washington DC in 1870. Interestingly his father was already 75 years old at the time of Albert's birth. Albert Fish had three siblings. Fish's father died five years after his birth and his mother placed Albert in an orphanage where he remained for most of his childhood. Mental illness ran rampant in his family and two of his siblings were institutionalized because of mental illness. Life in the orphanage was rough and he experienced frequent beatings. At twenty Fish moved to New York City and began to victimize children. He was very sadistic enjoyed his horrific acts. He lured the children away tortured and raped them and sometimes killed them. At the end of the ninetieth century he married and fathered six children. His marriage did not last and he continued his crime spree that now included other states. Fish was convicted on March 21, 1935 just ten days after the trial began. He was executed in January of 1936 at Sing Sing Prison.
